Dr. Jimmy Chow
Dr. Jimmy Chow is a board-certified hip and knee replacement surgeon with a focus on soft-tissue preservation & rapid recovery. With additional advanced training in hip & knee arthroscopy, he can provide comprehensive care for a wide range and severity of joint disorders.
Dr. Chow is helping develop and teach a new hybrid technique of minimally invasive total hip replacement, known as “SuperPATH”. This technique has potential advantages over other minimally invasive techniques, namely the anterior, lateral, posterior, or 2-incision approaches. Using this technique, no muscles or tendons are damaged, the hip is never dislocated in surgery and the tools & implants are assembled inside of the body. This results in no post-operative limitations and many patients are able to be discharged from the hospital within 24 hours. Additionally, unlike most other minimally invasive techniques, the SuperPATH approach is an adjustable approach, allowing for appropriate surgical implantation regardless of most deformities. More information about the origins of this hybrid technique can be found at:
Whether it's non-operative management, arthroscopy, tissue-sparing joint replacement or more complex revision surgery, Dr. Chow's goal is to combine cutting-edge technology & techniques to provide patients the best orthopaedic care possible. He aims to meet patients' individual needs through comprehensive evaluation and treatment designed to help them achieve an active, pain-free lifestyle.
Dr. Chow has advanced training in both Total Joint Replacement Surgery & Arthroscopic Surgery. He has been formally trained at the New England Baptist Hospital, part of the Harvard Caregroup in Boston, Massachusetts. There he completed the prestigious Otto E. AuFranc Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Chow has also completed a fellowship in Arthroscopic Surgery from the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
